PCADD’s Residential Services program provides both group home and Individualized Supported Living (ISL) services. In addition, Out Of Home Respite services for persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) are available at the New Era group home on a case by case basis.
Group home services at New Era provide care, supervision, and skills training in activities of daily living (ADL’s), home management and community integration. Additional services provided include staff assistance and support in the areas of self-care, sensory/motor development, interpersonal skills, communication, behavior shaping, community living skills, mobility, health care, socialization, money management and household responsibilities. Such services are generally provided with 24/7 protective oversight, however certain residents may have less restrictive levels of support depending on their needs, and as outlined in the resident’s Individualized Support Plan (ISP). New Era is licensed and certified by the Missouri Department of Mental Health.
ISL services provide individualized supports, delivered in a personalized manner, to individuals who live in homes of their choice. Individuals receiving ISL supports may choose with whom and where they live, and the type of community activities in which they wish to be involved. ISL services are characterized by creativity, flexibility, responsiveness and diversity. ISL services and supports are individually planned and budgeted for each person. Services are designed to assist participants in acquiring, retaining and improving the self-help, socialization and adaptive skills necessary to reside successfully in Home and Community-Based settings.
Out of home respite services consist of care provided outside of an individual’s “natural” home in a licensed, accredited or certified waiver residential facility; New Era is a licensed facility. The purpose of respite care is to provide planned relief to primary caregivers, such as parents or other family members, on a periodic as-needed basis.
RN Oversight
All Residential Programs of PCADD include monthly oversight of all residents by a Registered Nurse included as part of the service.
