Resuming Community Based Activities
There are positive indications that things may be gradually improving with regard to the COVID 19 pandemic. The positivity rate for new cases is trending downward in Missouri, and this downward trend is expected to continue. The rollout of vaccines will bring further improvements. For the past year or so, PCADD has taken steps to protect the health and safety of persons we support, including limiting time spent in community based settings. We recognize that the decision to re-engage in community settings is a personalized and individualized decision based on each person’s needs and preferences, so we are leaving the decision of community re-engagement up to the person served and/or their guardian.
We will use the Individualized Support Plan (ISP) to document each individual’s preferences regarding community re-engagement, preferred activities while in the community, and the risks that need to be addressed for each person to ensure their health and safety.
